You were cleaning your Sedra skimmer pump probably for your ASM skimmer and you lost the rubber bushing. Or in my case you bought a used skimmer that was missing the rubber bushing on one end of the shaft and you either A. dont want to buy a new one or B. No lfs carries them and you havent ordered offline yet. Well dont worry I got your back. Heres a quick idea I came up with to temporarily solve your problem. (Note: my ceramic shaft is actually broken in half but still works fine)

First find some polyurethane 1/4" tubing you probably have laying around from your rodi system, cut 3 apx 1/4" long pieces, split 2 of them length wise so you can open them like hotdog buns. Slip the closed one around the end of the shaft, and then the 2 open ones over each other on top of that one. Slide into front housing and your good to go for a short time. Please view pictures to understand what I am rambling about.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Over the years I have had this happen a number of times. Always had to drive into town 80 miles and buy another pump. Very cool, thanks for sharing.

I figure it could come in handy for someone, meanwhile the LFS is trying to order me a new shaft and bushing. But it works in the meantime or until I order the parts offline.
