so got my yellow tang 2 weeks ago first week had a small case of black ick, my neon goby seemed to clean that up in about a week, no other fish were affected, so it seems. all my parims are in great shape since i keep more than a few corals. weekly water changes, regular feeding routine, all other fish are and always have been in excellent condition. i did noticed a lil rugged fins when i got him home over the first week the ick had passed and his fins seemed to be doing better. now nearing end of week 2 his fins seem to be getting worse? take a look at the pics what do you all think is wrong with him. He swims all day, grazes rocks, and eats whatever goes in the tank. very playful with the clowns, not lathargic at all. i did not do any treatments, im guessing it would be impossible to catch him. and treating the tank is not an option.

Definitely do not try to catch him. He would just get to stressed out. Is it just the clowns in there with him? Is he getting any supplemental algae (no the crappy stuff that grows like a weed)? What exactly do your fish eat and ow often is it fed to them?

yes i do use supplemental algae on a clip and he devours it. i feed 5 days a week brine shrimp enrcihed with spirulina, mysis, (cyclopeze to the corals the fish get the scraps). the tang gets a lil algae every day but he also eats what every one else is having. carnivores get fed every other day brine shrimp and a lil mysis, corals get fed like every 3 days, sometimes they also get squid, or whatever else i mgiht feel like treating them too. has been my same routine for the past year , no unwanted algae or high nitrate levels. all my other fish are in great shape ive never lost anything in the year that ive been reefing. not even a snail, or hermit. dont want to start now. could this be an effect form stinging corals, such as a large torch coral and large frogspawn,

I'd start looking into fin rot.
