My Dad was an electronics guru for the Navy, Telstar is the name of a television satellite and also the name of our boat. When Dad passed away this past March (at the age of 84) I moved his fw tank from Houston to Ft. Lauderdale and made it sw and took the name in his honor. (he loved his fish).

Mine is all about what I do. There are two meanings, but they are almost the same.

    1) I am in the IT field and my job is to make the stuff work,
    ie, makin IT work

    2) the other version, it's what I do as a general rule, When something is broken/not working etc, I make it work. ( from my canister filters, to my plumbing.. making it work )

so IT = information tech. or IT = it = "stuff"

    well........

bc = blind chicken, which was a "handle" my friend came up with when we were making me an account on a local BBS, yes, a BBS in approx 1990. Some of you may not know what that is. This BBS, flag net, is still around today, although only accessible via telnet @ telnet://bbs.flagnet.org and it runs on CNet Amiga which he has running on a Commodore STILL. Flagnet has the title of the oldest and longest running BBS that is known, according to the person who did a documentary on BBS's.

When I got on IRC in 1995 I could not use the handle "Blind Chicken" because it was too long, so I shortened it to bc.

219 = Sometimes bc was already taken on irc, and also on some sites that require logins bc is too short (this is one of them), so I added 219 because it was my area code at the time (now it changed to 574)... my area code you ask? As a kid I was into "phreaking" aka phone hacking, but that was many many moons ago...
