Here is my Stand, and C2C overflow:

I'm still figuring out how I want to finish/skin it.

I really like this method I found somewhere from 2008, but this method would'nt provide an 'anti-racking' abilitiy. Maybe I could make some beefy corner braces?

just my .02, are you going to have a canopy on it? I really like aquariums without a canopy - it just looks so much sleeker. I like the "skin" on the tank in the picture, if you take away the huge canopy :)

I had planned on a canopy, kinda like the one in the pictures also.

No too tall though, just enough to house the lights

IMO, a tall canopy looks out of place unless it's incorporated with the wall/ceiling, otherwise it looks cramped. Again, that's my thought.
I would love a shortened canopy for my tank, but still be able to hang my lights from the ceiling. mainly cause the lights are already hung from the ceiling... I would like something to take care of the light leak though and so far a canopy is the only thing that I've seen that looks living room worthy

I'm sure whatever you do will look nice Todd! A shorter canopy makes sense.

Got the plan today, in my head for finishing this Bad boy.

I'm making it very similar to the pic. a post I got from RC from 2008.

I'm going to use shoe molding above and below the tank glass, that's about all the trim I plan.
I didn't want an elaborate stand with all kinds of trim ad nauseum.

the canopy will be about 11inches high in the front and sides, and will house my LEDs
I plan to use 3 ReefBreeder style, multi color w/ dimmers.

The front panels will pop on and off if I need to get under there.

I'll reinforce and brace the corners. for reduncancy, I could put my truck on it as it is.

    Matt,
Try a lampshade, like over a pool table kind.
