We have an approx 250gal tank. Wife was cleaning the glass yesterday and noticed the center support piece had separated from the front glass! I came home this morning and found what looks to be about 3/8" of separation. Pics dont really show it well. I also looked down the glass (like looking at a 2x4 to see how straight it is), and i can see the top of the front glass bowing).

    1. Can it be fixed?
    2. What can I do?
    3. How long do I have?

    Thanks in advance!

I can't really tell what's going on from the pics, but if it were me, I would prepare for the worst! Sounds scary, and not worth the risk of loosing everything. Hopefully someone else can chime in, maybe it's fixable....

    Is the tank euro braced?

Get clamps and place them in the center to support it from bowing. Get real good quality RTV silicone (if euro braced) clean the affected area really well. Re-glue with the RTV and leave clamps in place for at least 48 hours.

This happened to me a long time ago on a 55. I was told if I drained the water pretty low and removed it, then refilled it may be ok.. but if you let it (pop) when it finally lets go totally that could spell disaster.
I didn't take a chance! I cut some plastic and reglued it on top of the told brace.
That size tank I would not take a chance.. you better get some water out really soon
