I just happened to catch the hippo tang take a bite out of the clam. It was what would be a candy bar to us. Moments later the angel tried his luck. I'm sure that the clam has to go. I've been noticing lately that the mantle hasn't been extended as much as normal. Just find that hard to believe after being in the same tank for almost two years.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It's weird I know, but I have had Angels after years suddenly start picking at clams, never a Tang, but I would not be too surprised.

It's seems once that coral or invert is in the presence of the offender, that coral/invert will not fully extend regardless of how often they get nipped, until the offender is removed.

The offended got rehomed to a lfs in la. A lot easier to take out the clam than try to catch some fish. Now I know to watch the hooligans to see if they nip any corals.

I got rid of my blue tang because she got really aggressive with moving coral off the rocks. That fish decimated more than a few frags.

I'll keep my eyes open for problems. The lfs thought they get bored and start mischief. Hate to see this one go. They've been well behaved for a couple years. Probably no going back though.

I didn't want to get rid of her because we had her for awhile since she was dime sized and had been through ich battles. She was the size of my hand when she went. She started to just get beligerent. Maybe I'll get another one day in a bigger system

I haven't decided yet to get it out of there, but in case I do, any advice on catching it?

My blue tang had a swim path and oddly enough she didn't ever stray from it. I put a net in one area and scooted her from one side right in tge net. It was almost to easy. Lol

I doubt mine will be easy to catch. He's all over the place. May try a trap if it comes to that.
