I'm designing the stand for my next tank, either my 120 or a 72 bow front.
The basic stand is 2x4's (2x6 on the top rail of the 120).

I plan to make the sides & front completely removable for easy sump access & portability (easy handholds & no doors to deal with). The panels will be held on by either keyhole picture hangers or magnets.

I'll be using a Dremil & micro router to make the custom trim. I'll stain the exterior in mahagonay and for the trim add in a bit of black stain to the mahagony stain to darken it. For the interior I'm going to use the plastidip spray in white which will totally seal the wood.

I'll be making the stand a bit bigger in order to place the sump further back so that the plumbing from the overflow can go straight down into it.

Inside, there'll be a box for the power strips, dosers & controller/light timer. The box will be movable to either side of the stand since I rent & need it flexible for changes in tank placement.

Here's the stand & canopy design.

    Thanks
Thanks. May look familiar from the 72g thread but as stated I may just go with the 120 since the ammt of floor space taken up is nearly the same.
