Hi all! I just got a Lawnmower Blenny for my Biocube 29 and on the first two days I would occasionally see him perched on a rock but not for long and I have not seen him since but one of my family members says that they have seen him and when he notices someone is their he swims away. All my other fish that I put into the tank were out and about within 2 days. I got him last Monday so 6 days ago now. I have moved a few rocks in the tank since but my brother says he saw him since, also I have not seen him eat (mainly because he is scared by the food getting dumped into the tank) and I put some algae on a clip for him. I am just kind of worried since he was sort of expensive. I feed my fish chopped Nori Algae and thawed out Mysis Shrimp and the only other inhabitants are Two Firefish, a Six Line Wrasse that I bought together with the Blenny (they were tank mates), and a Bar Goby.

Something to add is I have no inverts other than whatever hitch hiked on my rocks into the tank.

Another thing to add is that I am not home from 8:00 AM - 4:00PM because of band practice during the week but I might have do some things so I might not get home until 6 or 7, so I dont see my tank often during the day.

IMOPE, there's the problem. When you have a new addition that's kinda shy, constantly moving rocks or messing around in the tank to try to find them keeps the stress level to the point that they will continue hiding. Hard as it may be, you must walk away and leave it alone. He needs time to adjust to his new environment.

Most of the time a "shy" fish is due to aggression. My bet is the 6 line. They are quite aggressive.Especially in small tanks.

The Blenny is around 3-4 inches and is way larger.
