latley I've been getting shocked when putting my hand in my tank. At first I thought my lights were the issue and they still maybe. I have a friend coming over with a multimeter and will have to do some investing into what is causing this. Thought I'd share my experience and will keep you posted on what's going on....

I did buy a ground probe. Something I should've done long time ago and I think every tank should have one.

ground probe is a must to protect your livestock. make sure you have gfci outlets or that could kill you.

Good purchase with a ground probe civic. I keep one in my sump and the display.

Using a mutimeter found the problem. The problem was an older heater. I have one main heater and three smaller backups. It was a backup.

Heaters are very problematic. I have had to many fail, all brands. Even a titanium one that was only a month old. I never submerge them completely any more. They can do a lot of damage when they fail, so they should be inspected on a regular basis.

Shoot!! This is one reason why I wanted a tank with a hood when I started reefing .. Now I have a kid, God forbid if a short happened something like this would be unspeakable
