Can I put 1/2 a teaspoon of Seachem Lake Malawi/Victoria buffer in 5 gallon jug of RO/DI and leave it in there. So when I need to put a little water in the tank to replace the evaporated sea water I can just put it straight in the tank.

Why do you want a buffer? Most do not put anything in their RO/DI top off water including myself. Only the water evaporates, everything else stays behind.

I was told to buffer it so the PH isn't messed up by my one of the people at my LRS. Also this is a urgent question so what should I do?

I agree with AZ. I add a little Kalk to my top off water to replace some calcium and alk depletion which makes my top off water pH about 10. Have never had an issue with it.

So I should not put any in it?

I would leave it as it is straight out of the rodi unit and just cover the container so no contaminants can get in it

I don't have a RO/DI unit I bought it from my LRS and I don't have a top off system. Also this is going on a 29 gallon tank.

Sorry, about the grammar I just got back from marching band practice which is 8-4 with a 30 minute break and I am worn out.

You don't need to add buffer to it
