Question for you Red Sea NoPox users. How long does it take for Nitrates to begin dropping when using this product? I'm a week in and my Nitrates are the same at (60 ppm I know it's high but I have no SPS mostly LPS and lots of fish), before I started using NoPox tested today and it's still at 60ppm water is a bit cloudy too[IMG]. I've read some people having good results within a week, what am I doing wrong? My tank is 150g and I'm using the recommended dosage daily, should I increase the dosage or keep following the recommended? So frustrated right now any opinions, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have never tried the nopox nico but I certainly know your pain :( I would think that it's going to take time before you see a substantial drop. I would definitely be hesitant to increase the dosage - anytime we add some sort of chemical to our tanks there's risks and things can go wrong and unbalances can occur - reducing nitrates ime takes time and patience and consistent work especially with water changes (like a lot of things in this hobby)

If it's anything like vodka or vinegar, and I suspect it is, your nitrate level will chug along doing not much then suddenly start to go down pretty quickly.

While carbon dosing isn't the only good method for keeping a tank, I'm a fan. Stick with it!

Well, today is officially the 2nd week of dosing NoPox. Tested Nitrate today and it didn't make any difference:( I am currently dosing 10ml for my 150g daily. Should I increase it now to 20ml? I started the 1st week with 20ml but the water got cloudy so I reduced it to 10ml this week. Any suggestions or comments are welcome. It makes me want to give up but I know I shouldn't

According to their directions, you should be at 18ml doses. You were probably right to start slow, but there is no reason not to head up to that dose.

With all carbon dosing it can take months to motabolize all the nutrients hiding in your tank. Don't rush. Just keep dosing and it'll happen.

I started with the 20ml the first week but when I noticed my water was getting cloudy I lowered the dosage to 10ml and now no cloudiness but no nitrate reduction:(

It will take a while for your nitrate to start dropping. If I remember right, mine started to drop 4 to 6 weeks after starting to use nopox.

Each tank is different. Hard to say what else they were doing to get their levels to drop so quick. Just take it slow and you will be fine.
