    It sure looks like a Pocillopora to me. It looks like the mother colony was located in a low flow area judging from the growth pattern. Longer branches mean less flow, tight dense branching higher flow.

    Great write up Cheryl, I find it very interesting how such a thing as flow can alter a coral so much.

    She's EXACTLY CORRECT. It can have impact on a lot of SPS corals.

    Pocillopora aggression.

    This frag is about 6 months old and huge. It was stinging my RP frags so I put in in the rubble on the bottom on the tank. The length of tentacles be it sweeper or not is probably 2 inches max. It seems more exaggerated lately, maybe do to flow or chemical cues, regardless it needs 3 inches or more not to do damage to near by corals.
