Put the tank on the stand and take a picture, as in, does the tank sit directly over the 2x4 frame which is now also covered by plywood, or is it on the plywood, which is supported by the 2x4 frame?

If the later is so- change it up now!

Tank edge front and back sits directly on the 2x4 right upto edge with the plywood inbetween, will add pics of it in place shortly

I have had some contradicting information lately, use foam between tank and stand, nothing should be used between tank and stand, use more braceing , no more bracing, top layer of stand 3/4" plywood, no plywood, same with skinning stand,
I have added some pics of the legs makeup, would i still likely need more bracing and reinforcements

I have decided to use some hin foam layer between the tank and stand, i have this 1/4" carpet underlay, will this be ok to use, it compresses rather well?

Looking pretty stout, but there is one thing missing: longitudinal shear strength.

You may not be done yet, but you need to have something to prohibit the tank from moving along its length. Most stands are enclosed with 1/2" stain grade or paint grade plywood. Even a thin piece of wood will give you massive shear strength.

Are you putting something on the front and/or back?

I have a 1/4" plywood top and sides secured with 1-1/2 wood finishing nails,
The back will be left open and the front i will be adding doors or removable panel,

As for the lonitundinal strength i was thinking of some of those triangle corner wood cuts, would these be sufficient?

1/4" plywood is fine it's not supporting any weight.
