ok...I was a little apprehensive so I went kind of easy on the application. I used a Q tip and covered pretty much the whole rock just swiped the q-tip across. I rinsed it in saltwater and then put back in my tank. Most of the rock is starting to turn a whitish color where the algae was as has been describe. The dark green is noticably gone. I'll update, but so far so good...

Last night I pulled out my two rocks and hit them with hydrogen peroxide. Here are some pics. The first one is when I had them in the bucket, that is where I treated them at. I thought it would be a good way to do it so that I kept the mess all in one place.;)

The second one is the two rocks back in the tank, sort of a before shot. At the time I took the picture I had already treated, rinsed and returned the rocks to the tank. I think the algae is already turning red.

The last pic is what the rinse/old water in the bucket looked like after I rinsed both rocks and pulled as much algae off the left rock as I could. It was coming off in big pieces.

I was doing a water change as I let the rocks sit with the peroxide on them, so they sat for longer than 2 mins. I figure it was alright because I don't have any coral. Just thought I would add my experiences.

Update-well, today virtually all of my algae is about gone on my rock....I'm so excited!! No noticeable ill effects to any tank inhabitants or my xenia which sits right above the rock treated......I'm so happy I discovered this method!!
