I had been dripping my mix in to my sump.
I guess I got lazy, and started dumping it in my sump- thinking 'It's so large, it'll be OK.

When I mentioned this, one of my good local reeefer friends thought that I still might be seeing a Ph spike briefly. He was probably right.

I dosed my ususal to one side of my sump within 15 secs (25cc kalwaser in 60cc vinegar in cup of sump water).
I waited about 1 minute until the slight cloud started reaching the RP area.
I took the 5ml/cc sample from the middle.
I was using my API high range ph kit. It read what I think was at least 8.6
I retested minutes later and it was down to around 8.2ish.
The API is kind of hard to read and decide what color it's closest to.

Perhaps this is also why lately I haven't seen any Amphipods crawling aorund my sump by the chaeto?
I think so, the spiking is killing them off.

I'm back to dripping over a few hours my kalwasser drip.
Thanks Matt/Zesty for getting me to see the light

Good call Todd and Matt! Along with the PH is the ALK spike also. Such a great additive but not very forgiving
