thanks! lol i know im sooo glad i finally have a scape that im happy with
    thanks :D

filter sock is there to stop the microbubbles from the skimmer, looks horrible but it's better than the bubbles, seems to stop about 90% of them. It's also due for a washing ill be washing it tomorrow, i wash it about once every two or three days, rotating between two socks

i had a tough time finding somewhere to put my clam too... it kept falling off. Pretty much impossible for me to get it to say short of completely rearranging my rock... which totally blows.

I ended up getting one of those plastic rocks that maybe would keep food for a pet lizard or something. Here's a pic.

In hind sight, I wish I would've cut this 'tray' down first. Anyway, I filled it w/substrate and put the clam on it on the bottom for 2 days. Then I moved it to the top. It's worked like a champ, but it is not the best looking solution...

I actually don't like it at all. So much so I'm considering trading it... but the idea worked.

it will be purple in a couple of weeks in your tank Peredhil

once its purple and the rock its on is purple - you wont know its there

    alternative
why not take that piece of base rock the dish is on, out and using a rock chisel or good screwdriver, creating a hollow in the rock itself - add a bot of sand and Bob as they say, is your uncle

That's one problem with large clams, it's hard to find a good spot for them. My clam took a few days to secure itself, at least some what. May put a small rock you can put it on at the bottom of your tank, let it attach itself there and then move the rock around. Also be aware that clams can move themselves if they don't like where they are at.
