It's basically when you turn it around to make sure any air that got trapped in it is out of it.

If it starts to turn brown, I would try raising it up higher, but give it some time first. I originally had my crocea under 4x54w T5s, and high up and did pretty good, but when I got my Tek 6x54w fixture, the clam really started to color up and showed much more irridescence on it's mantle.

start monitoring your calcium levels, clam that size probly will need more dosing than your used too.

ok think i might of burped it then because the burst of water came when i was moving the clam around.

Ok, i was hoping it would be ok on the sand because if i move it to a rock it would take up a ton of space that for furture corals. This rock is also right next to my evo 1050, hope it liks a lot of flow

also how long should i give it before moving it up

You should consider doing it right away before it attaches it's byssal filaments to the tank bottom.

Agreed with that, unless you have something underneath it. If you do, then I would wait a few weeks maybe or if it starts to look really drab and overall bad. The larger clams rely almost entirely on light for their nourishment so it could have a more immediate effect. Just keep an eye on it. The bad part about getting a large clam is placement, especially in a smaller tank. I bought my clam when it was only about 2" long and now it's growing into the rock.

Tank is looking great - that's a very nice looking clam, good deal too.

I would try to get that filter sock out of there, though. How often do you clean it?
