OK i just by chance out of the corner of my eye saw the craziest thing in my tank.... holy crap!!!! i don't forsure know what it is but i am hoping that if i describe it someone might know.

I'll start off nice and slow......phew...take a deep breath......I saw a turbo snail flopping back and forth like they usually do when trying to get something off their back but this one was being grabbed or more like engulfed by a fluid creature, and by fluid i mean a squishy soft thing like maybe a squid or octopus or cuttle fish. so anyways the snail is a gonner its whole body and shell was covered by this tan colored stretchy mass that leaked out of a hole in a rock under my LTA and slowly retreated back into the hole and left a bare shell. no tenticles just a large blob that was tan in color and had some cross thatch pattern all over. it could stretch and move

I am Officially freaked right out!!

I need ideas and suggestions as i know this is not reef safe....things have been disappearing .

Ewww that sounds really scary!! Could be some type of worm. I can't think of the name right now, but I know there is one that is tan and quite large and very vicious....

Do a google image search for Pericelis sp and see if it matches.

I can't find my flatworm pictures. But there's a brown one with a pattern that's kind of common.

i can still see a part of whatever it is... it moves fluidly, it's soft like an anemone. can anyone give me some ideas on what it could be as i need to come up with a plan to remove it!

Also it's been here for awhile and seems to have stayed in one place all the time. I can tell as i knew something was eating my snails and would just leave shell piles under me LTA. I just all this time thought the LTA was having snail meals. if it was a nudibrach what kind could it be? i want to look at picts of different possible canidates and choose the most likely as i doubt its comming out for a photo shoot

could it be a medussa worm?

have you added any new rock lately? Not common but probably not unheard of to have a hitchhicker octopus or cuttle I guess. But look up medussa worms and see if that looked like it
