Low Light Acro? Fragging Results

What are your water parameters?

 

It's well know in the scientific literature that light is a stressor and shade helps corals recover from bleaching and other disease. I'm not sure what the question is though?

I wasnt sure what the Acro was. I think I have found what I was looking for though. This guy apparently does not like much light.

Thank you. Question. Do you or anybody else think it is possible I had a softy poison the Acro? I only ask because this guy was a little too close to another coral a few weeks back and bam things went south. Allelopathy?

 

Definite possibility even if you are using carbon.

 

I'm surprised nobody asked what species of acro it is....

 

No acro likes "low" light. Some acros like "medium" light, but that is still usually defined as 200-500 PAR With 175s you should be able to acro anywhere without having "too much light". Corals do recover better in the shade though regardless...

 

I believe it is a Deep Water Speciosa. I still am of the opinion the coral was getting too much light at mid level in my aquarium. 3 X 175 metal halide @ 12k with 2 X 160 watt vho actinics. It is odd and this is why I posted this. Ive never heard of an Acro that only likes low light. But the more I have researched this the more it is appearing this is the case. Please feel free to disagree though.
