We're going to have a flyer trying to educate people, but also to share what we are doing to support the efforts.

This one caught me walking in the aisle. It shouldn't surprise me that people in our hobby would actually speak without knowing what they are talking about.

What?!?! People state "facts" without checking them in this hobby? Why I never in my life have heard such a thing!

Chin up Renee. What's done is done and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Literally. Well not literally but there is no way every diver will kill every lion they come across but if people would.....
If there are people that hate you because you love something they despise it is their problem not yours. You have no need to justify, simply walk away and do not entertain their narrow mindedness with a response.
And yes (to all who read and cringe at the killing remark) killing is the only way. Example: WY where I grew up and SD where I know live; both states have a bounty on coyotes. The population is in check and balanced. CA where there are way to many "animal rights" activists per capita...'yotes so thick they have moved into the 'burbs to dine on human pets and trash.

I am a fan of derby's. They raise awareness, they expand the message to different groups (divers, fisherman etc), they can move around to different places and each derby is highly effective at removing high numbers in a single day.

Here's what I'm not a fan of.... violence... aggression. "Eat 'em to Beat 'em", that's a great slogan. "squash them, mash them spear them, anything goes"? No, I do not agree with that. I was talking to someone who saw 3 when he was out diving. He killed all 3. I'm cool so far. Until he gets to the part where he needlessly stabs it multiple times. I told him I support the killing of the invasive lions, I do not support anything inhumane. I blame that attitude on the derby's that are all about blood and guts and revenge of some sort for some reason.

We believe we are proactive in "the cause"....

    1) We try to educate people before they buy, with our library articles, so they can avoid making that bad decision due to ignorance.

    2) We support people after their purchases, through our forum, to ensure people can successfully keep them in their homes

    3) The only volitans/miles we will sell will be from invasive waters.

    4) We actively mediate efforts to re-home lions when they are no longer desired.

    5) We have given permission to a Bahamas group to use our exclusive diagrams to assist in their removal efforts.

Ahhh well I've apparently offended you. My sincere apologies. The eat em to beat slogan is actually pretty cool as I've had blackened volitan and really liked it. Almost more than walleye.
Whether it is a derby or kills on dives, killing them is the only way, no? I don't agree with the multiple stabs guy either. That's not what I was implying at all.
FWIW I'm slowly building a pred tank and the star will be a Caribbean captured Volatin.
Anyway good luck with your education of the people. The lions are there to stay no matter what anyone does, just like the freshwater mussel and asian carp in the missouri/mississippi drainage and the Asian snakeheads down south and up the east coast.

What! No, you haven't offended me. I'm not even sure what you think you said that would!

I was agreeing with you about the killing of them. It's the only way.

Dang I hate the internet and forums. There is no emotion in text and I assumed that you viewed me as a beast for suggesting the every diver kill thing. So Renee, my apology for my apology.
I look up to what you and Greg do for the hobby. Don't let anyone ever get you down. :)

Being where I've been in the hobby and making the friends I have I can honestly say that I know for a fact that many, many of those that we look up to are the biggest hypocrites I've met in my life. When it comes to practice what you preach, most of them, (me included) have missed that memo. :) Sorry just had to throw that in there.

And it wasn't directed at you or Greg. I've never seen your tanks ;)
