Just got my new jebao RW-4 wave maker. 500-1000gph
First off it does not pivot in every direction like the wp version. This is both a positive and a negative.
Positive because the build of the holder arm is much stronger, and you do not have to worry about the power head popping off and making a mess of your tank. Negative because well, less adjustment.

Ok! So the RW feels like a much nicer pump, and for only $20 it is a great upgrade!
The current is crazy! I ran my wp10 on highest wave 1 setting.
The RW is on LOWEST wave 1 and it is stirring up a ton of stuff the wp left sitting on the substrate.

The controller for the RW is also wireless so when I get a second pump I will run the master/slave wave setup.
Also the pump has more then 3 speed adjustments! It has 8 levels, each level illuminates a green led on the controller.

So overall, much better flow, better build quality, more adjust-ability, seems like a great pump so far!

Highly recommend this pump over the WP series!

    NIce review- thanks!

I'm currently using my 2 x wp40's in my 180, and with the 1.5" return pipe also- plenty of flow.
But if/when my WP's give out, unless they've gone to something else by then, it'll be the RW series for sure.

I love the fact my WP ALWAYS start up and run forward EVERY TIME!

I think I will cut out every other vent fin on them to open them up like the RW pumps are.

Yeah, mine is really loud. So loud that, I unplugged it. Day and night, whatever time, it's loud. Oh and the light sensor doesn't work.

I bought 2 of t he RW15s for my next tank. I put one of them in my 60 and it's a GREAT improvement over the WP series. The fins are more open, which means less detritus getting caught and slowing down the flow. The controller has 8 levels of speed now, so there's better speed control. They can interact with each other, the "wireless" feature.

I'm about a week in, so I will update with how it goes.

    So far, I love it.
