This is a 90 Gallon that was converted to my 110 reef.
Over 15 any way, mostly cichlids. Oscar, Dempsey, and the two balla sharks were the biggest.

    I do miss them..

    Cheers

the dempseys and terrors are south american fish, a sandy bottom is good for the terror. i have a green and he sifts through the sand for food kinda like an earth eater. you need plenty of caves and rocks so that they can hide and feel safe not stressed. and your tank will end up being way too small for your fish in about 6 months to a year and you will need to get a bigger tank. those fish can get up to 12-16 inches.:):):):)

    jack dempsey are VERY teritorial

If you have more then one jack or type of jack in a tank you must give them BOTH a cave or territory to live in Jacks will chase ANYTHING away from there spot Here is proof that no magttyer how serious the threat they will dominate there little space with NO FEAR

piranha dominated by Jack Dempsey ...///.ken wiesner - YouTube

As previously stated your tank is to small for those fish. firemouths, convicts and Earth eaters are better south american cichlids for a tank that size and are very colorful/energetic. If you want to try african cichlids look at Demasoni, Yellow labs and Zebras. Good luck and welcome to the addiction!

They will assert dominance for the first couple days and once they figure out who is the top dog they should settle down with the chasing, just from my personal experience, happens everytime i add new fish, after a couple days its peaceful again.
