+1. Wish I had a good way to get a pic. My house is like my tank, low tech. I still use aol and would use compuserve if I could.

Anyway, small increase done in mag and ph. Will update once that has a chance to settle.

    Thanks all

Here's one way. I don't know if I have any lenses hanging around. I've heard you can find lenses in those little laser pointers.

I beg to differ. All of the "fluff and stuff" [IMG][/IMG]

Was done to weaken the Dino. After reading extensive articles on Dino in the wild and in captivity. As well as other pro reefers experiences I put together that regimen and did VISUALLY see the Dino start to die back BEFORE the blackout. The blackout and the ultra algea x was the final 1-2 punch.

Awesome thread! His introductory post pretty much explains why I used a multiprongged approach to beating my Dino. Because I didn't know what species I was dealing with.

I really have no intention of starting a fight, so I'll just say this. Next time you have dino, try everything you can think of without the lights out. If its definitely dino as confirmed by a microscope, I bet its still there in a month. Then stop everything and try a lights out for 3 days. You will see nothing but white wisps where the dino once hung on your stuff. You still need to spend weeks (4 - 6) keeping your lighting as low as your corals can stand to keep it from comming back, I prefer blue only, but it is easily apparent the lights out works.

The problem with all the other remedies is, if they fail and they most likely will, your corals were weakened by that amount of time by the dino. This only increases the risk they can't tolorate the lights out.

This is going to be my next step. I just need to (gather my courage) and do it! I've never done a full lights out before...

What about the sump light? Did you turn that off too?

I didn't have a sump light, but I would definitely turn that off.
