My budget is $300. I want a camera I can hopefully manually focus and is digital. What does everybody suggest?

I have a Nikon P90. It is a 'superzoom', basically one step down from an SLR, as you can't change the lenses. I've had it since mid February. It's awesome. At the top of your budget, it cost me $320 on Amazon.

The newer version is out, the P100. I would still go for the 90 of you can. Should cost a bit less(as it's last years model) & I think it is a better camera.

I decided to talk to my parents about getting a new camera. My dad told me to pick one out that I liked and as long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg it just might turn up during the holidays. Now to pick out a nice inexpensive DSLR.

I love my Nikon D90S. I got it for a steal $350 used with lens. There are definitely some good DSLR's out there in your price range if you're willing to go used and be patient.

I don't mind waiting and being patient. I don't need anything special. As long as I can focus myself and have a good macro lens, I don't care what the camera is. If it was easy for me to use my old school camera where I can manually focus, change shutter speed easily, and no delay in the photo being taken, I would just use that.
