    Yes I had guiesman T5 s
I put back my electronic metal halide with 14k coralvue bulb now to see if it changed anything. It didn't help
Might put t5 back soon if I get everything under control

Just had a few extra pieces when I rearranged
Doesn't it have the same benefit in the sump as it does in the display ?

When was the last time you changed the bulbs in the t5 and/or MH?

The t5 bulbs are all brand new and the mh bulbs were about 2 months old when I put the t5s back on

There is really no benefit. Just a place for detritus to build up.

    I didn't realize that.
Well some of it has GHA on it too and is now under the lights in there.
    Should I remove it?
What will the new GHA I am trying to grow to counter act it in the display grow on?

If you are trying to grow gha as nutrient export you can leave it. Chaeto is usually used because its easier to contain and doesn't need lr

I also blocked of both sides of the tank to cut down any room daylight. It is in a livingroom with 2 windows. Shades are usually closed but at this point I'm trying everything I can. Nitrates are virtually 0. now
