Hi was getting a reading of 20 ppm couple of days ago. Today I have changed some water and they draped to 10. Any more suggestions on how to lower them farther?
cause I don't want to change the water every other day. I have a 5-6" DSB in my refu and about 2" in my tank should I maybe start adding more sand to my main tank till I reach about 4" would it help?

Let the tank settle for a week and test everyday to see what is happening in the tank.
Please post daily test results so we can go from there.

Do you have a phosphate test?
What are the other tests reading? Calcium ALK and pH.

    You mean DKH right?
    You just added LR right?
Have you added anything else latly?

How are you adding calcium? Yours is high at 500 and thinking your DKH should be lower.
What is the SG and what is your schedule for additives? And what additives are you adding?

    Phosphate test?

Ok I have only added calcium three times and I stopped. I have GH test(genera hardness) and KH test which is (carbonate hardness) and this is the one which is around 7. SG is around 1.023-1.024 The LR is still curing in a container so I didnt add any yet. I read an article that said its better to change water more often with smaller amounts so I'm going to do it weekly with 5 gallons what you think? O and the phosphate are around 0.6 although, the RO water I'm using reads 0 nitrates as well as 0 phosphates

What is in the Tank right now? Something in the tank is giving you the Nitrate readings.
The GH and KH is not the correct test to use here. You need an ALKALINITY  TEST which gives the DKH.

What is the brand name of the test kits you have right now?
