Hold Fast Epoxy

It that green stuff from Marineland. I got some it to try epoxy frags to LR wasn't impressed. I think it would work better dry but it said it bonds underwater. It irratated my coral, kill the skimate production for like two days, and gave me a headache! That and it smells like perm
I will stick with super glue.

 

It takes a while for this stuff to set. I'm going to try another way (probably another underwater type) and see of there is a difference.

there is also a gel epoxy that comes in 2 tubes that says it cures underwater. I remember seeing it somewhere, I'll try to find it and post it.

I haven't had any problems with the marineland stuff. Did you kneed it until it turned white first before using? That is what you are supposed to do.

 

i have been using reef puty by D and D (deltec) that has been made in conjuction with milliput. the stuff is coraline in colour (if set out of water it is a darker pink) but it too is quite slow in curring.

but if you know exactly where you are using it you can speed up the process by microwaving it for about 10 seconds (depending on your microwave) and it will set in about five minutes, i have only tried this with milliput and this reef puty, but would think it would work for all types of epoxy putty.

Drew, that glue is called underwater glue at Dr. fosters and smith, just do a search on the web site for epoxy

 

I have used that epoxy on art projects before that needed to be waterproof and such. It worked reel nice!

 

Its supposed to br used to anchor them in place rather then glue them...if they are off kilter they wont be held. I used it to put the frags at work on bases (the ones that fall off the colonies during shipping trauma).
