:-/ How can I Defeat or Cripple Green Hair Algae?
I don't want to deprive my corals and Anemones of light.

I just went through this same problem with my tank. My problem turned out to be water quality. My membrane on my r/o was 3 years old. One of the other members here {Karlas} told me about Trochus snails. They eat green hair algea. You may have to cut it back a bit but they take care of the rest. As the tank water improved the algea actually started to die off. Soon I'll have to buy algea for the Trochus snails to eat. ~Jack

I have to agree with Pipe_Organ, water is the most common problem with green hair algae.

Thanks! I will check the quality of R>O> I am getting. I brought this algae in on a piece of rock, but I bet the water still contributes.

I had imported some hair algae on a piece of rock one time. I took the rock out of the tank and with a toothbrush I scrubbed all the hair algae off. Never saw it again.
