Hello everyone out there in 3reef land-
The containers the dosing pump line goes into-
I'm think it has to have some type of vent for air, or leak enough that it doesn't create a vacuum in the container- if a vacuum built up, then it seems to me the pump wouldn't pull it out

What do you use, and how, etc.

    TIA

1 liter deer park bottles, two holes in the caps the size of air line tubing. One to prevent a vacuum and one for the airline tubing to pull it up.

    3 bottles for 3 parts :)

Thanks- I googled 'deer park bottle'

I'm thinking I'm going to use 5-6 gallon salt buckets- with at least 1-2 gallons in them and see how it goes and adjust from there.
I'm going to use similar mixtures from the Randy Holmes.... write up,
I'm planning on using CaCl in one
And Baking Soda in another (gonna bake it first) (pretty funny- Baking the Baking Soda!)
I"ll use Kalwasser in another (but the Kalk is so weak/gallon before it precipitates out- and I don't want to stir/mix it) this will be to make sure things stay good.
I'll put a mix of Epson Salts and MgCl in another- this doesn't have to be dosed that much/often.

My goal of this is to not only make my system more stable than it already is,
(I currently drip Kalwasser and RO/DI in a hyper-saturated solution)
but to be able to go out of town for a week and not have to rely on friends to come over every other day to drip my prepared Kalk in for me.
The main one of the Big 3 to affect corals the quickest is the Alkalinity.
Currently I keep it around 7-8 with Kalwasser.
In order to drip a non over saturated mixture of Kalwasser, I'd have to drip 2-3 gallons per day in- that's too much.

I just use the liter bottles because I use tropic Marin's three part which is all metric because it's German based. Plus on my 34 those liter bottles would last forever. Not so sure on the new tank (65 total volume).

I don't feel safe mixing my own two part, I know you love DIY though so power to you. Let us know how it goes. Depending on how many dosing heads you have, you should do an amino supplement too.

Between the ATO and the doser, I feel much more comfortable not paying attention to the tank for a couple days.

    Thanks,
I bought the 4 head Jebeo doser- Shipped to my door new for $75!
It actually has pretty good reviews.

I've never dosed any AA's, not sure I'll start.

Thanks for replying VA, I always like to hear and see how others are doing things-

I have the jebao dp-3. I love it. Only problem I've heard about the Dp-4 is how many times you have to hit the button just to set up a regime.

Another popular option is to just do some trace elements.

I'm sure there are plenty of others with better ideas/options.
