I noticed this morning that I had a section on my flower pot that just didn't look right. I took my baster and blew off what appeared to be slime. When it came blew off it reveiled the base. I turned it around to protect it. Is there any hope of saving it.

Gonioporas have a pretty dismal survival rate in aquariums from what I've read. I'm not sure what you can do exactly, I would probably check and see what you can feed it, I believe ensuring it's well fed goes a long way to keeping them alive. Also I've read that Gonioporas from certain areas of the world (I think the Aussie ones maybe?) are more hardy than others.

Here are a few articles I turned up quick.

Just threw mine away today. I fed it the oyster feast and phyto but to no avail. It lasted about 4-6 mos. (can't remember when I got it exactly).
Here is a sort of pic journal of it going down.

Its so unfortunate. Its such a beautiful coral but I havent seen anyone keep it past 8 months. I have had mine for close to 6 and although it may not be as big as it once was its still doing ok but because of all I have heard and read I'm not expecting it to stay for long but I guess we'll see. I target feed all my coral rods and the goni live phyto. I cant take a picture rite now cuz my lights just came on so its closed up.

I have had mine for almost 12 months now but the last two months it has stayed almost completely closed the whole time.

I had it about half way up in my tank but recently moved it to the sand, mostly because I thought it was a goner. It seems to like the bottom more but we will see if it pulls out of its funk.
