These blobs you speak of sound like it could just be a few little sponges on the outside of your LR, i know in my tank, i bought a piece of LR with some corals attached to it, elephant ear, seaweed, etc.. and on the backside i had multi colored sponges.. pink, white, and a couple lime green.

They just look like blobs, kinda like yogurt, but if you look at them from an angle, they kinda look prickly almost. Is this anything like what your seeing? I could be wrong, but, it's worth a shot.

no they aren't eggs. The white spots you see on the fish are the eggs. You can't see the parasite, as they are too small. The nitrates aren't as much of a concern as the rest of the numbers and the mere fact that the tank was so young. the nitrates in my FO tank hardly ever fall below 40

beautiful tank man, I hope every thing else makes if, tangs and clowns are pretty tough, they should be alright. Just do me one favor, after you get all the free stuff from this guy at the lfs, dont ever ever go back in there again.

    Hey Gang--

Woke up this morning to some disturbing news...
The cleaner wrasse is completely missing! I mean no where to be found. This since last night. I figured it went under a rock or something to sleep after a busy day of cleaning his new friends and all... but ... now I'm thinking he went somewhere to simply die because of the tanks nitrates.

I am going to lift a rock at the bottom where there's a big hole to see if indeed it was under there ... with the goby that likely died days ago... at the very least... I can get the carcasses out so the nitrates don't spike any further than what they already have... (I HOPE THIS ISN'T A BAD IDEAD... I DON'T WANT TO DISTURB THE ECOSYSTEM... BUT HAVE TO KNOW!)

I will keep you posted on what's under this mystery rock at the bottom...
I have a creepy feeling it's not good.
I'm also going to call the LFS that aided in ending this latest fish's life early so he's in the loop...

BTW the next nitrate level check is this evening...
    more posts to come...
i'll also include pics of the mystery blobs... hoping it's just part of the natural ecological system.

    Take care,
    Ryan

Have you looked behind the tank to see if it might have jumped out?

I have had a few wrasses and while I'm also a newb. I never saw mine until about 8-10 am . they burrow at night to sleep and then usually come out shortly after you turn your lights on for the day. Just a shot incase you just quickly glanced on your way out the door to something.

    Breaking News

I just finished looking under what I thought was the rock the wrasse went under ... and what popped out????

The goby! I'm quite shocked. It's breathing but not swimming. Hoping it will make a turn around ... as for the wrasse...

I checked the floor outside the tank, around the tank... in the return flow area... heck I even checked the SUMP! (I don't know why I did that *lol*)

Hoping some of the posters are right and that it has just buried itself until mid day... going to check again later and I'll post if it pops up.

Should I do anything for the goby?

    Ryan

Happy to see your tank is doing much better.....

But I wouldn't trust that LFG he JUST WANT YOUR MONEY. And he should replace all your fishes not just some, you went to him for help and he sells you part of the Brooklyn brig and a dream of a fast cycle.

As for the goby it made it this far, just let it be, and continue to work on your nit( correct me if am wrong 3reef)

nope, I think ur spot on with this. Keep doin what you are doing. As for the goby, chasing him to move to qt tank wouldn't do him any good so try gettin some food down to him with a syringe or a turkey baster and hope for the best.
