I couldn't keep my clams in the rockwork, so after 2 jumps, I decided to leave them in the sandbed, fearing injury after another evil knieval maneuver, so there they stay, and have been happy.

I used a bigger clam shell and mine has never moved just turned a bit but happy as ever. Its foot holds on and it does not try to move.

    And good dinner before hand.

I think they are cool. There are some concerns on that kit of what they use in the ceramics but thrive imo is a very quality company and there stuff rocks. I would have their kits for clams if my lfs sold them.

I think that's the route I'm gonna go, it just seems the safest to me. How long does it take a clam to attach??

In mine with the big shell I got from publix no lie I put him on it and it never moved checked like maybe two hours after I picked up shell and he was at home. Month later its still there the way I put it and is even growing a bright new shiny layer of shell

Heres a pic of my Tridacna. Under 4 t5's in a 90 gallon tank on the sandbed for almost 2 years.
