    how well do those work? Ive heard alot of good and bad, I was thinking about getting one when I finally set my sump up, however if I was to come home with water all over my floor I would be kicked out of my house

    I have one of the 1200 and it works like a charm. I also have a CPR that did get a lot of gunk inside rather quickly and the aqualifter pump started getting clogged... too much work for me. I've been happily using the eshopps after the first flood the CPR caused. Fortunately I was close to stop it before it was a disaster.

    I have never, EVER had a problem with my eshopps overflow, bud. Power goes out, and when it comes back, the overflow starts right back up. Never loses siphon. Whereas the CPR I have to be poking on the aqualifter pump hose so I can make it work.
    Although the weir design looks and sounds like it's very functional, it has certain flaws, like for example, how do you clean one inside?

    Get the eshopps and you won't have any of these problems.

    +1 to this.

    Eshopps one both of my tanks. My 120 has 2 Eshopps overflows to seperate feeds for my skimmer/fuge.

    I had some problems with this thing. I think my problems came from not running enough flow through it, but I would have bubbles collect in the top of the u-tube and I would have to fiddle with the overflow box to get extra water to flow through and pull out the bubbles. I had to do this at least once a week or it would fail on it's own. I also found starting it to be a PTA. I think I would put a little air hose in the top of the U-tube and make a siphon to my sump to pull out the air and allow me to start the siphon in the u-tube by sucking all the air out through my extra air line. If that makes any since.

    def insufficient flow there.

    Also, did you start it up with ANY bubbles? Need to get a perfect start to keep a perfect siphon when running lower flow.

    It is a great product. I got one and started it right up. If you get water connecting the two sides, just add alot more water volume to your main tank and it will force out your air bubbles. I have tested it to see if it will loose siphon and it doesn't. really well designed product
