That will work fine, try the aquavitro eightfour for alk when you run out. Keep an eye on your mag as well. Weekly water changes will help with stability. When i first set up the reef I rarely had to dose but as the corals and clams grew so did the demand of elements. Basically you want to meet your tanks needs while keeping it as stable as possible.

Thanks DSC, I believe my tank is starting to get to that point.. It's running good but the big 3 are starting to get depleted over a days. What would you recommend for MAG? Today my Alk is 8 CAL 420 and MAG 1160

I keep my mag at 1450 but thats what the reef likes. My alk 10, 10.5dkh. I think the 1250 range would be just fine for your tank. Keep an eye on things and once you learn the sweet spot then try to keep it there. Just remember my numbers might not work for you.

Dont add anything to the tank you cant test for cody, especially iodine. It can cause more damage than good really quickly. With coral pro salt those elements should be fine, I'd just focus on the big 3 for now.

Thanks DSC, I talked a one of the LFS owners and he sold me Iodide by seachem. He said this would be safe for the reef if I only dose about 1 mil a week after my water change. [IMG]

Any chemical can be overdosed. Iodide is safer than raw iodine but it will cause the same issues when it's over dosed. Your tank isnt consuming those elements enough to consider dosing, especially weekly water changes with coral pro. Fish stores need to sell even though they may be nice. Get the big 3 stable and try to keep it there, just focus on that.
