So I am trying to pick the best fit for my tank. (obviously) Clam wise.
I would love one of this purty guys but having a hard time choosing.

    Tank,
    -Biocube 29 Hoodless
    -178 MH fixture (10k) with 2 T5 antics
-Intank Media basket and Fuge Chemi-pure elite purigen and their amazing filter floss
    - Aquticlife 115 mini skimmer
-RKL with temp and PH probe
-ATO slowly starting to use it to dose kalkwi (corailine is starting to grow everywhere.
    -2" argonite sand bed.
-about 45-48 pounds of rock (mostly cause of a sizeable boulder)
    -2 true percs
    -2 skunk cleaner shrimp
    -1 turbo snail
    -8 hermits
    -78.2 constantly
    - salinity 1.026
    -PH 8.2
    -Ammonia 0
    -Nitrite 0
-Nitrate next 0 (weekly water changes probly help.)

Whats my best bet? and any words of advice?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Start with a hardy larger clam like a Derasa.

Yes you might have to re-home in the next year.

Make sure your parameters like Ca/alk/mag are in line.

Your lighting should be sufficient for clams in that tank.

    Look for clams that

    1. Have good coloration.
    2. Mantle is extended completely and responds quickly by withdrawing the mantle to movement and shadow.
    3. Check for the presence of Pyramid snails at the foot and base before purchase.
    4. Research Pinched Mantle Disease.

You can house a 2 inch or 3 inch Derasa in that size tank for a couple years. I imagine by that time you will up grade like most.

Or you can go the smaller clam route and try Phyto supplementation. I myself had much better luck long term with bigger clams.

I have a crocea in my 40 gallon. it was a transfer from my 27 gallon. I think you would be fine with one.

I would say deresea would be your best bet, around 4-5". i've been keeping a 2.5" maxima in my biocube 14 under leds for 4 months or so without any problems, however.
