I have the Nikon Coolpix P90. Here are the specs.

I like to take shots of my aquarium & I also like to take outdoor macro shots. With only a steady hand, it's somewhat difficult at times to get good macros.

I don't have a tripod yet, so that will help, but is there a remote release for this camera? *crosses fingers*

What tripod would you suggest? I am looking for something for macro shots & maybe another tripod for outdoor portrait photography.

I found these two tripods for macro shots. This one would be ideal.Amazon.com: Vanguard Elite S 64-inch Pro Carbon Fiber Tripod - with 3-Way Pan Head & Quick-Release Plate plus Shoulder Strap - for Digital SLR Cameras & Video Camcorders: Camera & Photo

This one is a cheaper version.
Amazon.com: Dolica AX620B100 62-Inch Proline Tripod and Ball Head: Electronics

Can I get something between those two, in cost? Maybe this?Amazon.com: Dolica CX620B104 61-Inch Proline Carbon Fiber Tripod with Ball Head: Camera & Photo

What should I get for an outdoor tripod...I was thinking maybe something of aluminum?

    Bump

I've got a photo-shoot in 2 weeks. I'd like to get some thoughts on this stuff.

It has a low profile option which is great for getting down close to the ground. The grip on it makes moving the camera very easily as it has a ball head with a "pistol" grip. As far as a remote cable, there is none that I'm aware of, sorry.

Does that one come with the plate or will I need to buy that separately?

It comes with one. It has a quick release so you can leave the plate attached to your camera all the time.

Sounds like a good option for me then. I'll keep that one in mind.

Dang, that's too bad. I had a feeling there wouldn't be....Should have spent the extra $150-$200 on an SLR.

    Any other photographers put there?

Yeah, that Manfortto one looks like it should work. Manfrotto is an outstanding brand and I've never heard anything bad about them so I wouldn't worry about the lack of reviews. Personally, I prefer the sling style bags like the Manfrotto one. I never did like the style you have now, but that's just me.

    Cool.

Same here; When I got it[the one i have now], it happened to come with a sling. Otherwise I don't think I would have gotten it. Too awkward to carry.
