bubble tip with Elephantitis ?

    So I just looked in and my rather large bubble tip anemone is expanding! Do they split? That would be my guess if they do spit.
    Any Ideas, sorry no picks before . IMG_0285.jpg

    Normal fluid exchange.

    Are the tentacles normal that short on that anemone?

    yes they do split... are all your param good...has he ever done this before.....hope a pro can give ya better info.
    Not trying to freak ya out...but these guys gotta be all that and then some. : )
    Looks like corailline got ya square. ..cool : )

    No they are 5 times that length. The body is usually a quarter the width. Plus its moving like theres a fish inside, but all fish are still in the tank . . .

    Mine would eat a WHOLE salad shrimp !! then suck up for an hour or so...

    Interesting, I haven't noticed anything like this before. After eating it closes up and digests the food, but doesn't pulsate and expand that much.

    Well...if it's a concern...test your params...if something went sideways....you don't want that little bugger going out while your at work or in bed..toxic.
    ..again..not freaking you out...but you sound like its an anomalous situation in this instance...so check your water ALWAYS first..imo. : )

    yes...I believe it is just expelling (as coralline stated)...how long have you had it...has it done this before?

    6 months, no not yet
