I FOUND SOME BUBBLE ALGAE IN MY TANK YESTERDAY. THEY ARE REALLY SMALL, AND I HEARD YOU CAN POP THEM IF THEY ARE LESS THAN 1/4", WHICH MINE CERTAINLY ARE, IS THIS TRUE.

When ever I remove Valonia Sp. algae, or Bubble Algae, I do one of three things.

If I can take the rock out of the tank, I scrub and rinse it in tank water real well.

If I have to remove them in the tank, I use a sharp pointed knife to scrape them by the base coicidentally with my siphon tube to remove the algae. I also stab and squirt them with a smidgeon of muriatic acid in a syringe and they dissappear in a couple of days.

HJust trying to minimise the spores in the tank from removal.

Home Depot has it. They sell it by a gallon for like $5.00. Enough for a life time!

Mix it 50% - 50% with hot water in a glass cup. It is highly corrosive and so keep it in the sink.

You're welcome. One last thought, you might want to wear rubber gloves if your skin is sensetive.

or if u have a freind that has a pool, u could get some muratic acid off of them. Its used for pool maintanaince too.just make sure it says, 100% muratic acid, not mixed. And yeah, that chemical is some powerfull stuff, when u open the bottle of it, u can actualy see some somke coming out.
