Its all about having the PERFECT temp and not allowing the temp to go up or down rapidly. I have had two hipos with the same symptoms and as soon as i fixed the temp it went away.

    thanks for replying

i do a 10-20% water change every 2 weeks. should i increase it to every week instead?
I will probably go check out the cleaner shrimps tomorrow when i go to the fish shop

tank size is about 50 litre, so about 13-15 gallons. it is small, but enough for just 2 fish as i dont plan on getting more. they actually lived in an even smaller tank for 3 years prior to this one, and he never had ich before or any other problem besides from a low ph once

wow that is wat is stressing him out get a cleaner shrimp imidiatly and i would not do a fresh water dip cause it could just kill him trust me it happened to me just keep the temp perfect and water perfect and if he is hardy he will fight it

So how many fish are you saying you have in this 13-15 gallon tank?

Just a few? Or a whole ton?

Personally me, I would do a 2-3 minute FW dip, then drop him back in the tank (With a cleaner shrimp, they always help) and then just leave him the heck alone and just keep an eye on the water parameters. Do your water change weekly, try every Saturday evening or something like that. Make it a schedule. Consistency will help any SW reef tank operate smoothly.

will definately check them out tomorrow

so what is that perfect temperature? :p my tank is at 25 degrees C

and the tank is not next to windows, but there are windows like 2-3 meters away? sunlight doesnt shine directly into the tank if thats what you are trying to find out?
