    I got my teardrop maxima for under $100 it's a gold/purple ish

    You can see ether color when my actinics aren't do overpowering

    That's a beautiful clam, but maximas will never get to the size of squamosa. I have one that is the size of a rugby ball when closed! (it's got a relatively boring color and pattern mostly brown). A blue one that size would be magnificent. And it's been extremely easy to keep. Much more hardy than a maxima or even a crocea/durasa.

    Sqaumosas will grow too big to be removed from the tank, to give you a rough idea. And I am talking a 125/210 gallon tank. That is when you sell them, LOL

    I didn't know that :) I always thought maximas were the biggest.

    They are true giant clams, get like 20" across I believe. I have heard they can get much bigger, but can't find a conformation of that
