    die off is just dead spots between the flesh, or an area that you can tell had recently died off i.e. skeleton showing. I also just reread your first post, you said you put it on the bottom of the tank, did you place it directly on the sandbed? I've read they don't due well directly on the sand so i keep all of mine on rockwork at 15-45 degree angle, seems to give them the best growth.

    I do see the skeleton. I'll try to take it back to the LFS today. It's on a frag plug.
