I just noticed after I got home from work today my black angelfish that i have had for awhile looks like the black on it is coming off and fins look kinda beat up...weird. I really think this just happened, I noticed a couple days ago my other big angel was picking on it but they grew up together and never had problems before. I see no problems with any other fish except I had one of my other smaller angels died recently but I didn't notice anything wrong with it. It doesn't look like ick to me. I did a 30% water change (added salt) & tested my water with dip stick test. It looks good. It was solid black and literally looks like the black is coming off. Anyone have any ideas?? I looked over the different fish symptoms of diseases and it doesn't seem to match any of them. This is an established tank, been up and running for 2+ years.

I assume this is a nox, not a french which seems to lose some of its black.

Is this in the 55? It's possible they are starting to feel crowded in it as they get bigger, though I'm not very knowledged in the angel department.

Woops didn't notice this was in freshwater. Have you changed what you feed it? It's possible what you are feeding it will make it slightly grayer maybe? If not I guess just keep an eye on him for a while.
