Hello, I'm new here. We had a tank cycling for almost four months and just bought a pair of clowns. The smaller I just noticed has something wrong with one of its fins. Other than it looking either faded or like there is a wax cap over it he is acting fine. If somebody could please help identify what is going on our whole family would be very grateful. [IMG]

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Please google Brookynella.
With that image it's hard to tell what is really at play.

Welcome to 3reef, wish it was under better circumstance.

I googled it. It doesn't quite look like brookynella. It covers the one fin completely. The fin looks a little bit stringy on the end. I wish I could get a better picture but he would not stay still.

Then I would try some Melafix. Sounds like it could be a secondary bacterial infection.

As always check water quality, namely Ammonia/Nitrites and Nitrates.

Thank you. I did have a amonia spike to 1.0 but I did a water change and added prime.

+1 on the melafix. good stuff. if you had that ammonia spike then that could be the issue. erosion from that on the little guy's fin
