No power. No heat. No hot water. I have battery operated air pumps going. Tank is covered. Doing partial WC daily. No deaths (that I know of). Struggling to keep temp steady. What's an okay # to shoot for? As of now 70 is about the best I can do... Any advice is appreciated. Otherwise keep your fingers crossed for me

What types of corals do you have?

Nothing expensive but I love it all the same. Xenia, acan, palys, zoas, a torch, sympodium, etc. all softies and lps. Fish and inverts are still hanging in there too. Tried to catch them ( my lfs offered to hold all fish for the duration) but they're still active enough to be uncatchable... Coral is really closed up but nothing is showing signs of death yet

Would they be willing to hold your corals? The fish will be ok, but the corals won't go more than a few days without light. Also, 70 degrees is a bit low for a reef. Again, fish should be fine, but corals.. not so good.

wow that stinks do you have anyway of heating up some water in jugs or a pot then putting them into jugs? you can just let them float around to try and raise the temp

I've been adding warmed water to try to bring it up when I do water changes, but I'm afraid of doing it too much. Don't want to send them into shock. Hope I have power when I get home...

Amazing.... Almost 5 full days of no power and everything is still alive and happily extending its feeding tentacles only a couple of hours after the power comes on. My favia actually looks really awesome! The only death are some mushrooms I was trying to frag. Fish are hiding, but they all made an initial appearance. When I have time there is some major karma going out to all the people who started threads on emergency situations. You guys rock!

Glad to hear everything came out good for you. Coral can go a while with out light. Buddy of mine went with no light on his tank for 2 weeks before he moved it. And he said I made for the easiest and most successful move he had done yet. Said all the coral were like in a hibernation state an the fish were really calm and easy to catch.

Again glad you come through with minimal losses.
