coral beauty and flame angel died today. now my kole tang is breathing heavy.
anthias is acting weird not breathing heavy yet. clowns seem ok

all parameters are ok, had them double checked by LFS. What could this be?!

some said stray voltage, but voltage meter is pos! heater was causing like 2.5v

then tank read 0 when i took it out. then checked again few hours later and its back up! wth! think the meter is junk.

what could be causing my fish to die? please help!

pics of what? the fish all look healthy except they are dying! coral beauty started swimming funny, then breathing heavy, then dead. Like over night this happened. Nothing new happened to tank except 2 new power heads. and a lot of stress i suppose in the past few days.

As posted in your other thread, turn off the NEW powerheads and remvoe them from the tank. Also do you run carbon?? Add some fresh carbon to the filter/ skimmer whereever you put it and run it for a week or so. In the mean time add some Prime or StressCoat to the system to help allieviate stress on the fish and any possible organics.

Without knowing exactly what is going on in there that is the best you can do to help allieviate stress on the fish and keep the living ones living while you figure out the exact problem and a solution.

honestly for lack of a better explanation i'd remove the new PHs and if possible quarentine the remaining fish. I'd also do a large WC after removing the PHs. Where did you get the Phs? i'm just wondering if there was some kind of foreign contaminate on them...

thats why i say to run fresh carbon, on a 75gal tank I would run 500ml carbon for a week, WELL RINSED. The use of carbon and HOH/lateral line erosion disease is someone controversial with limited studies and knowledge and people arguing on both sides. IT seems thats fine carbon dust getting into your water column could be an issue which is why with carbon use it is important to rinse well and to avoid overusing the carbon to prevent issues. It is very possible something got into your system that we do not test for, either from the new PH or from being airborne in your house

true true... glass cleaners, Moth bombs, aerosol of some kind... i'm just wondering if someone cleaned the PH with bleach or something before shipping them to you...

I read your earlier post and still think it was stray voltage. Probably from your heater or the powerheads you added.

PghSteeler is on to something. Did you or any family member do any cleaning around the tank? Clean the glass with windex? Use spray airfresheners?

Does anything agitate the surface of the water? Lack of O2 in the system maybe?
