zooxanthellae rock anemone question

I feed mine frozen Mysis a couple times a week. Just a couple pieces each time. Seems to be doing very well so far.

 

I have frozen plankton and brine shrimp also freeze dried krill. I will get some frozen mysis.

 

Personally, I'd feed good quality silversides over FD krill.

FWIW, I had a couple of BTA's that had been dyed yellow given to me, and they did bleach (as expected), but the tank was mature enuff that they were able to reacquire "local" zooxanthellae. While they were bleached, pieces of silverside was the food they ate the best. The trouble I had finding nice silversides that haven't been freezer-burned due to thawing/refreezing multiple times, but if you can get smelt or sardines from the fish market, that's the best.

Once they were doing better, they also got thawed mysis, and lived for many years. One of them even divided once.

 

One of them is shriveled up and pale keeping my eye on it. It's been moving around so I've been waiting for it to settle before I try feeding. For right now I've been using frozen mysis. Once it settles I will try to spot feed it. Hopefully it makes it. Tanks been up for years and all parameters are in range. Turned the lights down as well shorter cycles.

 

I use the New Life Spectrum pellets that I feed my fish.
I put one into/on it and it hangs on and eats it.

Sometimes my Tangs steal it right off of my Maxi mini Carpet Nem.

Mouth wide open and on the move. times 2. They are both on the move the other one is in a hidden corner can't get a picture of it. They still inflate and deflate normally but this one pictured it's mouth stays open all the time. Getting ready to check all parameters now. been feeding frozen mysis the LFS is a 30 mile drive so I'll probably head that way tomorrow.

do you know what is causing your ammonia reading? I would definitely up your salinity. You need to do that slowly though.....
