I'm curious as to what book(s) fellow reefers rely on and reference to:
Which is your favorite book?...Come on guys and gals-LETS HEAR IT!
My bibles are Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman and Reef Aquarium by Delbeek and Sprung. As for the fish I love Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner and Reef Aquarium Fishes by Scott W. Michael. Then of course, Reef Invertebrates by by Anthony Calfo and Robert Fenner. ;D

    To Kill a Mockingbird ;)

Seriously though, I've never read a book on the subject. I rely solely on magazines, the internet and e-mails to and from fellow hobbiests to acquire my knowledge of the hobby.

    DITTO !

I have the best book in the world which covers everything one needs to know about this hobby and is constantly up-to-date..... it's called the INTERNET and great forums like "3reef" with so many knowledgeable and experienced members that know first-hand the "Do's & Dont's".

IMO the problem with books is that they become outdated .... just like that book that said that Live Rock is an integral part of a tank set-up was outdated by the book that said that a DSB is the way to go and forget about the Live Rock stuff ::)

With a hobby like this, a family to take care of, and, a 9-5 routine a person is lucky enough to have 10 minutes of private-time to go to the washroom let alone sit and read volumes on how to lower your nitrates.

To each his own (I guess).

My two cents (in CAD $) :)

Boomer, I couldn't agree more, and on top of that I am finding that using the search engines is becoming more and more fruitless. What I mean by this, is I remember in the beginning, the internet was mainly a place to share information and of course for adult things. Anywho, it has changed so much over the years becoming just a marketing tool for everyone who ever wanted to make a buck. ie: you search for breeding clownfish, and in 20 pages of listings, you only get 2 or maybe three that have any decent information. The first 6 listings are always: find clownfish on ebay, find clownfish on amazon, find clownfish in Portland etc. Anyone else out there feeling me?
    Gotta love books. LOL

and there is nothing like sitting back in the easy chair and looking at the books without staring into a screen. Searching now on the internet is like an art form. Meaning there are ticks one needs to learn to find things easier.

of the above mentioned by some i have to go with aquarium corals by borneman. i have read it on multiple occasions/daily and always feel it was worth the time and beers consumed. also excellent choice on To Kill a Mockingbird, but Brave New World is by far my classic.
