    so i have a colossal batch of eggs hatching soon (coming monday the 16th normally) and ill be able to give the little larvae my undivided attention till about the 23rd before i leave to join my family away from home for Christmas till about the 27th.

    my largest concern is feeding, so i thought of the following;

    i was thinking of filling a 5 l. bucket with live rotifers some green water and an air pump. this bucket will be placed above the nursery and with an airline tubing i was thinking of creating a siphon that would drip, drop by drop the contents of the bucket to the nursery.

    questions:

    ill keep a 7 L buffer volume on the nursery to avoid flooding.

    do you folks think this would bring enough food for the larvae while I'm away or will they eat them faster than the siphon can feed them? clearly it also depends on how many hatch…..

    ill also add a good dose of rotifers before i leave directly to the nursery.

    i should also be able to come back at some point between the dates mentioned to check on things.

    HELP!!!

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I would let this hatch go and not worry about it.

    Considering you would be dripping in salt water and there would be evaporation, wouldn't the salinity increase, if only slightly? Other than that issue, and assuming it didn't overflow, sounds like it would work.

    ooo good point, didn't think about that…. the rotifer/phyto bucket would be at 1.020 ppm while the nursery will have water from my dt at 1.025.
