    I'm going through the same thing with alk. Two tests saying different things. Sounds like you are pretty sure that both tests are inaccurate. In my case I ordered an alk refractometer. In your case seems like either a test from an outside trusted source, or getting a new test kit.

    I've had individual tests from Red Sea kits go bad early, with Nitrate and Ammonia being the most common. Agree with the others- get a third opinion, or better, a higher quality test kit..

    If the tank is healthy, the off the chart test is wrong.

    You can have 0 nitrates and algae in the tank still, it is just consuming all available nitrates and the tank is nitrate limited. Test for phosphates, you may have them.
