    1-3 years is about average for bowl dwellers. Bowls like nano's can be tricky.As John has stated good maintenance on a bowl or a larger system with filtration is key. They can on rare occasions live up to 10 years.;)

    I would go no longer than weekly and no less than 50%.

    BTW what is the temperature of the tank. Bettas are tropical fish and need to be in temps around 78 degrees.

    We keep the apartment at 78, think I might get a bigger tank with water flow, heater and colorful rocks. ;)

    Just be carefull about adding flow.These fish live in stagnant pools and aren't equipped to handle it.

    Good call, I added a 750gph power head to his 1 gallon tank. ;) JK

    I was going to use a simple air pump and stone to create a small amount of flow.
